hi.
as a blind person, there's a complete or 98% complete assignment that have stalled on so call you think its the most safe place, but the file have been correpted, with the night before due date, and you know that it is impossible to get it done in such a long time with all the datas and research, what will you do?

I'd tell the tutor. Technology is not suually a valid reason for not having an assignment ready, they'd probably say you need to keep back-ups, but they may be a little more understanding. You may be able to get a legitimate extension for hthe assignemnt if you approach your tutor/module leader direct.

Last year, I had 20 viruses siitting on my laptop undetected and it was making it behave weirdly. It had to go into the university's technician's office and sat there for 3 weeks being checked out, virus removed, reinstalled and all sorts! The module leaders whose assignments had been affected gave me 3 weeks extension and filled a form out so I could hand that in with my assignment when it was done so I wouldn't lose my marks.

Yeah, as long as its not something that is taken advantage of, I think that there are some situations where it is appropriate to say that technology is hindering your ability to get the assignment done and turned in on time. That definitely happens to me, at least it has a little this year.

I've had that happen to me on several occasions, and its a pain in the ass. Especially when my parents don't believe me 99 percent of the time. They seem to think they know it all when it comes to problems with technology. To add to this, my stepmom has figured out a way to see what I'm up to on the computer without me even knowing it. Very very freaky if you want to know what I think of the hole thing.

in my second year at university, my laptop broke down completely and i had to go without it for six months. one lecturer failed one of my assignments cos it was six hours late, but i spoke to others in my department and eventually i got some extensions. i would say, back everything up! however with a situation like this, talk to your tutors and they should give you an extension.

My problem with assignments is that my teachers always seem to lose them, not me. I just can't seem to convence them that I did it, even though I still have the papers saved on my Braille Note.

I manipulate them. I first establish very close friendly relationships, that’s important, and act well around them, be polite and as friendly as possible. when you tell them your problem, it should majorly eliminate your problems. It’s like forgiving a personal friend. I am pretty close with this teacher, and I have made efforts to be as close with her as possible. I am glad I did, as otherwise, she can get quite nasty. I’ve seen her being nasty with other students, but with me since I like to be her friend and listen to her problems and give her my attentions, she has no problems with me. Well, so a few days ago, she had put her document on an unexcessible file and sent it to me. The night before I sat down prepared to do the homework and couldn’t open it. So, next day I went in, greeted her with a big smile and a cheerful disposition when greeting her, made my usual friendly remarks, and listened to her talk. When I told her my problem she just decide to forgive me, and told me if I went in after class and if she read the stuff to me, and I did it that way, she’ll be happy to give me full credit. I went in, we kept up the work, and after a bunch of talk and working on the worksheet, I finished it while having a great conversation. So, I got my points anyways without screaming, shouting, making a scene, or being upset.

Agree with what the others have said about talking to your teachers. Also back up assignments that your are working on and also back up the complted assignment on to a tumb drive, compact flash card, or other storage media and use that particular drive for school related matterials only. I back up all my math notes and i find it works very well.
